Professor Shon has advised companies with various accounting- and finance-related issues, including:

• Distance learning companies: optimal teaching/learning content and strategy

He has personal research interests in several other areas that can be applied to real corporate settings, including: (i) campaign finance and the effect of political contributions on firm valuation, (ii) the effect of sentiment and behavioral biases on stock prices, (iii) sell-side analyst output and coverage decisions, (iv) optimal voluntary disclosure practices, (v) earnings management and auditor-client relationships, (vi) options trading strategies.
